Olga Kurylenko was also part of the Red Sea International Film Festival jury this year, and while Naomie Harris kept us guessing with her mix of minimalism, Olga delivered a very different journey — one with highs, lows, and a few nostalgic nods along the way.
Opening Ceremony
I wasn’t a fan of this Charbel Zoé gown. My immediate reaction was, “This could’ve walked the Cannes carpet in 2009,” and not in a celebratory, vintage-revival kind of way. The beading, the blush tone, the cling… it all feels like a look Eva Longoria would’ve worn during her early Cannes era. Perfectly serviceable for an opening ceremony, but undeniably dated.

Women In Cinema
Things improved significantly with her ombré strapless Elie Saab sequin gown in shades of moss and graphite. The dress itself is gorgeous — classic Saab glamour with a modern fade — but the styling didn’t rise to the occasion. A black Roger Vivier Bouquet Strass clutch and black pumps feel like an afterthought when the gown is begging for something fresher, lighter, or even tonal.

Golden Globes Gala Dinner
Then came the reset button: Giorgio Armani. No sparkle, no fuss — just clean construction and a silhouette that let Olga step into a more refined space. This look had clarity. Better accessorised, better edited, and easily her strongest moment in terms of styling.

Closing Ceremony
You weren’t fans of Naomie Harris’ Tima Abid Couture gown, but I suspect Olga’s red gown by the same designer will go down much smoother. The sculpted bow at the back will absolutely reignite the Nicole Kidman Balenciaga 2007 Oscar down discourse. I like this look.

It’s definitely the strongest of the four, but zooming in on the neckline, that black box detail feels unnecessary. The gown already had enough presence without it.
