Following the Louis Vuitton x W Magazine Awards Season dinner, Elle Fanning stepped out at the 2026 Astra Film Awards on Friday evening, where she received the Vanguard Award.
It was another pale blue moment, this time delivered via Rodarte.
The colour works immediately. The soft blue suits her, and the drapery around the shoulders adds a gentle framing to the upper body. At first glance it feels aligned with Elle’s recent preference for romantic silhouettes.
However, the asymmetrical line under the bust is distracting. If the intention was to create shape or definition, it has the opposite effect, breaking the flow of the dress. The proportions start to feel unsettled, which is frustrating because the rest of the design is perfect.
There are positives here. The silver strappy sandals are a clear improvement from the night before and sit well with the colour palette.
Some of you have found Elle’s 2026 red carpet run inconsistent so far, with the Ralph Lauren Critics Choice gown being the clear exception. I suspect this look will land in the same category.
