Teyana Taylor attended two events in Los Angeles on Friday, moving from the AFI Awards Luncheon to the Variety and Golden Globes Pre Golden Globes Party.
AFI Awards Luncheon
The Golden Globe nominee for One Battle After Another wore a McQueen Spring 2026 suit, and this the one rare moment where I am not fully convinced. The issue is not the concept, but the fit. The suit reads oversized in a way that overwhelms her frame rather than working with it. The proportions feel off, particularly through the sleeves and trousers, which dulls the impact. The standout detail is the collar, which adds interest and breaks up the severity of the suit, but it is not enough to rescue the overall look. This was a misstep, especially for someone who usually commands tailoring with ease with her Saint Laurent Critics’ Choice Awards suit being the best example.

Variety and Golden Globes Pre Golden Globes Party
This will likely be an unpopular opinion, but I loved everything about Teyana’s Nina Ricci Spring 2026 look. The colours, mixed materials, and pattern play should not work together, yet they somehow do. At least in my mind. It is chaotic by design, and that is exactly why it succeeds. It’s not trying to be subtle. The layered textures, statement boots, and confident styling would this work on anyone else. But on Teyana, it lands. I would rather see this kind of risk than something forgettable.
Stylists: Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald.
