Nicholas Hoult joined Jurnee Smollett and Jude Law at the Venice Film Festival for the photocall and premiere of their film, ‘The Order.’
As always, Nicholas style was on point, but this time he took a sartorial risk that paid off in spades. From an unexpected daytime look to a timeless evening ensemble, Nicholas showcased his versatility.
Photocall: A Blend of Tradition and Trend
We all know that Nicholas has impeccable style, but his Venice Film Festival photocall look may have put that reputation to the test for some. Wearing a Bottega Veneta Prince of Wales wool jacket over a cotton rib jersey tank top and denim jeans, some might feel wasn’t sophisticated enough by his standards.
I love seeing something different from Nicholas. Not every event needs to be suited and booted for him.
Much like Jude’s look, Nicholas’ blazer was the key piece that pulled the outfit together. It added a layer of refinement that balanced the casualness of the tank top and jeans. The denim jeans, in particular, offered a surprising but welcome contrast to the structured blazer, creating a look that was both polished and relaxed.
A Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece and Prada shades completed his look.
Premiere: The Classic Three-Piece Tuxedo
Nicholas returned to a more classic look, and the result was nothing short of spectacular. Dressed in a Ralph Lauren three-piece tuxedo, styled with sleek Santoni patent leather shoes, Nicholas looked every bit the debonair gentleman we’ve come to know and love.
In an era where waistcoats are rarely seen on the red carpet, Nicholas’ choice to incorporate one was a refreshing nod to timeless elegance. The waistcoat added an extra layer of sophistication and structure, elevating the classic tuxedo to new heights. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the key to standing out is to embrace tradition rather than shy away from it. Nicholas’ polished appearance was a testament to the enduring appeal of classic menswear and a masterclass in how to wear a tuxedo with style and grace.
This look will no doubt leave a lasting impression on you.
