It wasn’t long ago that Eddie Redmayne was known for his classic slim-fit suits, but since his return to the spotlight, it appears that looser silhouettes are his new go-to.
On Tuesday night, Eddie joined co-star Lashana Lynch at the Berlin premiere of ‘The Day Of The Jackal’ at Zoo Palast, where the actor was embracing this new style chapter once again wearing a Tiger of Sweden suit which took risks in all the right places, particularly with its bold flare-cut trousers.
The suit may seem familiar, and with good reason. Just last month, Dan Levy also wore a cream Tiger of Sweden suit to the Academy Museum Gala. It must be noted that they share the same stylist: Harry Lambert.
I felt that Levy’s statement-making trousers were a bit too long, whereas Eddie’s version were the perfect length, allowing his trousers to elegantly frame a pair of polished Santoni oxfords without dragging the floor—a minor detail, but one that makes all the difference.
Eddie’s choice to pair the bone-hued suit with a chocolate brown satin shirt and ivory tie also broke conventional styling rules, but his confidence turned this unusual combination into a winning look. In classic suiting, we’re conditioned to expect a dark suit with a light shirt and perhaps a dark tie. Eddie, however, defied these norms with a look that felt modern, and sophisticated as he continues to set himself apart.
On paper, this mix might not have seemed so appealing, yet Eddie’s style, confidence and elegance sells the look, seamlessly I might add.
