ESSENCE’s 15th Anniversary Black Women In Hollywood Awards highlighting ‘The Black Cinematic Universe’ took place at Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel on Thursday (March 24) in Beverly Hills, California.
Saniyya Sidney eases us nicely into Spring wearing this sunshine yellow Silvia Tcherassi floral mini dress styled with Jimmy Choo ‘Remy’ sandals.
Storm Reid kept the lemony flavours alive wearing this stunning LaPointe Fall 2022 off-the-shoulder dress which imbues most of its flair from the feathered forearms.
I’m glad she opted for white pumps over the yellow boots we saw in the look book, but someone with Storm’s sartorial prowess probably would have made them work.
There was yet more citrus flavours to be had on this red carpet courtesy of Coco Jones who rocked this orange Christian Siriano Spring 2022 mini dress which would’ve stood out for the colour alone, but those ruffled sleeves made this a true statement piece.
Karrueche Tran rocked a striped look from the Balmain Spring 2020 collection, which may have been too long in the sleeves, but she looked good regardless.
Demi Singleton is sticking with Zimmermann for the moment. This time selecting a look from the Spring 2022 collection.
This is easily my favourite of the two looks from Thursday. Not only is it super chic, but it also showcases a more mature side to her style.
Akira Akbar continues to prove just how chic the St John Fall 2022 collection is.
Somehow this look shouldn’t work. The model was not selling it to me, but Akira made it look so cool.
Serena Williams has really fallen off style-wise. It’s like she transferred all her swag to her sister Venus.
Wearing an S by Serena one-sleeve dress, this has a Real Housewives of New Jersey feel to it, which is an instant turn off for me.
She can do so much better, I don’t know why she keeps serving up these mediocre looks lately.
Robin Thede was looking ever so elegant in her Valentino Spring 2022 floral gown.
Marsai Martin rocked a sparkling Zhivago midi dress which feels like a totally different look for her.
