V Magazine goes backstage at Givenchy, presenting an exclusive photo diary of William’s second fall collection for the fashion house.
Showcased the La Défense Arena earlier this week, creative director Matthew M. Williams presented his second collection for Givenchy. Military coded, yet opulent with beaded textures throughout the silhouettes; it was a hybrid of “formal and informal” in the runway presentation – designing a collaboration of the ethos of Hubert de Givenchy and Williams’ adoration for contemporary American style.
Sensibility was the greatest impact on the collection; couture was made functional through knee-high clog boots and peplumed corsetry. Vivid statements and dynamic tailoring were the true overhauls for the fall/winter show, adding layers to Williams’ evolution of streetwear at the maison. And V gets a closer look at the details.
