Kate Middleton made a fairytale fashion statement during the final night of her Caribbean tour with husband Prince William on March 25. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were visiting the Bahamas as part of their celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee that honors Queen Elizabeth II’s accession day to the throne.
Hosted by Governor-General Sir Cornelius A. Smith, the royal couple attended the reception at the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar Resort in Nassau dressed in their regal best. Kate, 40, also known by her title Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, did not disappoint in a floor-length silk blue gown with a plunging neckline reminiscent of the beloved Cinderella. The ice blue dress was the work of British designer Phillipa Lepley. Eloquently draped, the gown features a crossover bodice, bows at the top of the thick straps, and a long skirt that flows down with subtle pleating at the hips. Blue is the theme apparently with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with Kate in an icy-blue gown and Prince William in a midnight blue velvet suit.
Color coordination is evident with Middleton’s jewelry and clutch choice, specifically the $17,000 worth of mother of pearl jewels by Van Cleef & Arpels. Matching earrings and necklace paired with a satin clutch from Lulu Guinness that served as a perfect backdrop for her engagement ring—the famous one worn by Prince Williams’ late mother, Princess Diana. The mom of four is known for her sleek hair and she kept her signature hairstyle with a middle part and hair tucked behind her ears.
