Lily James wore an outfit to the 2022 Film Independent Spirit Awards that’s inspiring our next spring style shopping trip: a statement-making bra top with major sleeves and wide-legged trousers.
The look was perfect for the Film Independent Spirit Awards, which was held on Sunday, March 6 in Santa Monica, California, because the award show has always been a bit more laid back and casual than, say, the Oscars. Because of that, stars tend to experiment with bolder looks. And we’re grateful for it.
For this year’s event, Pam + Tommy star the actor wore a light pink top and wide-legged pants. But not just any light pink top: The bralette from Del Core is cropped, embellished with delicate flowers, and has massive, billowing sleeves.
Because there’s a lot going on up top, James balanced the bottom of her look with simple, high-waisted and wide-legged black trousers. James wore silver drop earrings and styled her hair sleek and straight. She also her makeup fairly natural with just a subtle cat eye and a deep rose lipstick for oomph. Jame’s sparkly platform shoes brought the whole look together and gave it a very in-trend late ’90s/early aughts vibe, which could be a nod to her latest role as Pamela Anderson.
