Toronto-based luxury streetwear brand Mr. Saturday is at it again, revealing their Fall/Winter 2022 collection this week. This time, the assemblage called “Radio On,” calls on cultural and historic moments of the past to explore how these events affect the present.
When prepping the collection, creative director Joey Gollish especially researched pioneering German electronic outfit Kraftwerk. “‘Radio On’ feels like a return to the roots of Mr. Saturday. Sound has always been an important element of our projects, so centering this season on Kraftwerk and their influences was incredibly eye opening,” says Gollish. “I think we’re all children of Kraftwerk and Bauhaus, even more so than you’d think. This collection is about closing the loop of Kraftwerk references and expressing their language of ‘Retro-Futuristic-Americana’ that feels close to home for me.”
The collection features 34 men and women’s ready-to-wear looks. While playing with themes like Americana, nightlife, and retro-futurism, “Radio On’ stays true to Mr. Saturday brand elements like oversized silhouettes, androgynous styling, and circular branding.
“Radio On” also features a collab with iconic Canadian brand Roots, creating a series of leather accessories, as well as an award jacket.
The brand will showcase “Radio On” in June for Paris Fashion Week Men’s. View the whole collection on the Mr. Saturday website.
