Here are some words I never thought I’d type in 2022: Drake and Taylor Swift are hugging in a photo together. And of course, fans are already theorizing (and manifesting!) a potential collab.
On April 18, Drake took to Instagram to share a seemingly inconspicuous photo carousel. The first photo in the carousel was a shot of the Canadian rapper himself, smiling while at a concert or similar event. The second photo featured his 4-year-old son (and part-time existentialist professor) Adonis.
After the picture of Adonis, there were a couple more blurry photos of Drake, and then boom—the very last picture, the pièce de résistance, something probably very few of us would have predicted. The last photo in the carousel is a grainy throwback pic, seemingly taken on a Polaroid or physical film camera, of Drake and Taylor Swift, with his right arm draped over the singer while she holds the rapper’s forearm.
Now this is what we mean when we say last but not least!
“They too soft to understand the meaning of hard work,” Drake captioned his post—which, honestly, doesn’t clarify anything.
Of course, the posting of the picture took both Drake and Taylor’s fans by surprise, and it wasn’t long until the two fandoms united forces to concoct some theories.
“So #BBMAs tweeted ‘Big announcement this week’ in a cryptic Taylor Swift way and the same day Drake posted a picture with Taylor THIS CAN’T BE A COINCIDENCE SOMETHING REALLY IS COMING,” a user claimed on Twitter.
“I think a Taylor and Drake collab is FINALLY going to happen or happened… why else would he just post about it NOW,” someone else added.

The theory currently gaining the most traction speculates that Taylor might be tapping into the vault once again, and potentially releasing what many believe is a long-lost collab.
