Green is still Jennifer Lopez’s favorite color.
In a new installment of her newsletter, On The JLo, the quadruple threat opened up about how her priorities have evolved over the years, slowly shifting away from Hollywood grandeur to quality time with her family—including fiancé Ben Affleck. “It’s super important for me, especially now, to prioritize my personal life and not just my work life,” she wrote in her newsletter, which was sent to fans on May 13. “When I had kids 14 years ago was when I started thinking differently. Things changed for me. Little by little, my perspective has turned into a healthier work-life balance.”
That’s only become more important to Lopez since Affleck proposed in April. “Now that I’m getting married, it’s about my family first and foremost,” she continued. “It’s about having enough time to be the woman, the mother, the partner and the person that I need to be for the important people in my life. It must be a very special project if it’s going to take time away from my family.”
In the newsletter, Jennifer Lopez also shared a series of date night photos with the fiancé in question. “Oh by the way, green is still my lucky color,” she wrote underneath three PDA-heavy photos with Affleck. In the pics, Lopez is wearing a crushed green velvet set that perfectly matches the engagement ring Affleck used to propose to Lopez while she was taking a bubble bath.
Green has held a special place in Lopez’s heart—and wardrobe—for years. “I always say the color green is my lucky color,” Lopez once wrote in another On the JLo newsletter, regarding the plunging Versace gown she famously wore to the Grammys in the year 2000. “I’ve realized there are many moments in my life where amazing things happened when I was wearing green.”
