At night, I always double cleanse with the Make Oil Cleanser, the Pre-Cleansing Fluid, and the Succulent Skin Wash. I’ve been wearing a lot of waterproof makeup lately, and I’m doing almost two washes of the Skin Wash just to make sure, because waterproof really does what it says.
My Serums
Baseline, I’ll do our Lactonic Serum and Super Cell Moisturizer. Those are my go-tos all the time, no matter what. And then depending on what my skin needs, I’ll add in things. I’ll add in the Acid Phase Toner when I’m breaking out or I’m about to get my period, or when my skin feels really dull, I’ll add in a brightening serum—I like the Eighth Day one, or the Azelaic Emulsion from Naturium.
My Moisturizers
Day and night, I’ll put on Super Cell moisturizer. Sometimes when my skin is super, super dry, I’ll layer in something on top of Super Cell, like Sublimage from Chanel Beauty. That is thick. So that’s a heavy hitter, the Sublimage, but I go through Super Cell so quickly. It’s everywhere all the time. I love it so much.
My SPF
I don’t wear sunscreen every day, but everyone should. I’ve always had such a hard time with sunscreen because of the smell. And it’s getting so much better now, especially with mineral sunscreen. I’ve been using the Charlotte Tilbury SPF primer that’s SPF 50.
My eye cream
I sort of go back and forth on eye cream. I was getting milia when I was using eye cream consistently, so I haven’t used eye cream in a while. However, the Naturium Multi Pep Eye Cream is one of my favorite creams of all time. When I met the founder, Susan Yara, she gave me that and I was like, “I’m going to need more because this is going all over my face.” I love this cream. And then they made the face cream version.
My masks
I love face masks. One of my favorites is the Mara Volcanic Sea Clay Detox Mask. That is the first clay mask that I’ve ever used that has not dried my skin out, I’m glowy and hydrated after. I was like, “Allison, what is this witchcraft? How did you do this?” It’s so good. I love Hanacure. That’s one of my go-tos. I like the Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask from Fresh, that’s a good one. And I still use the VIP O2 Biologique Vivant with just a little bit of baking soda when my skin is just just blah.
My spot treatment
My skin was really good for a long time and I was like, “What’s going on here?” I test product all the time, eat cheese, don’t sleep that much. My skin was too good. I really pared back and was doing the least. But now I’m definitely getting some irritation around my chin, which I think is hormonal and some whiteheads.
Now I’m kind like “What is going on?” I had cystic acne really bad, for a long time. It was awful. Absolutely nothing helped. No hormones, no Spironolactone, nothing. I started to get facials regularly and that helped. When I get a big pimple, usually before I get my period or if I’m really stressed, I’ll use a Zit-Sticka patch, or this product on Amazon called End Zit. It’s skin-tone color, but a liquid paste-like texture like the Mario Badescu spot treatment, but you can wear it during the day because it’s flesh color And I try to not touch it and I’ll do some spot treatments with Acid Phase, around my nose or jaw line.
My Tools
I love devices, they are my favorite skin care thing aside from rich cream. I love microcurrent, so I have all of them—Ziip, NuFace, Sola Wave. Ziip is my “I have 20 minutes, and I’m not doing anything else” thing. NuFace is if I have five to 10 minutes in my bathroom, and then Sola Wave is at any time when my skin is clean and I have a serum on and watching basketball. I love it for that reason. It really works too. The clinicals are kind of crazy.
I have a Dr. Gross LED mask, which I don’t use that often, but when I use it consistently, it changes my skin. I think that is the most effective of the LED masks that I’ve tried. When my skin is really inflamed with a lot of redness or sensitivity, red light really helps calm it—I do a mix of red and blue. It’s three minutes, and it’s the most effective, powerful, and quick.
