Usually on RuPaul’s All Stars Drag Race, we see the Queens dressed up in clothes they have usually made themselves as part of their challenges.
But on the episode where Naomi Campbell was the guest judge, we had a high fashion, Haute Couture moment courtesy of Shea Couleé.
Shea Couleé looked absolutely breath-taking challenging her inner African goddess wearing a colourful floral Valentino Fall 2019 Haute Couture gown.
The dress sells the look, but everything from her hair twisted into braids, which were then stacked on top of each other to resemble a Nefertiti-inspired crown, the Maasai choker, the earrings, and the gold cuff, excelled this look.
Into another dimension.
An emotional Shea Couleé shared on Instagram.
“What a premiere. Not only did I get the chance to walk the runway for my idol @naomi, but I got experience another major first on the runway.
Having the ability to be the first queen to ever wear Haute Couture on the drag race runway will be a milestone I will treasure forever. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel towards @maisonvalentino @pppiccioli @iacopopedretti @yigit and the rest of the Valentino team. Wearing this breathtaking gown from their A/W 2019 Couture show made me feel like the ultimate Queen of Queens.”
What an iconic moment.
I’m sure this won’t be the last time we get a Haute Couture moment on Drag Race.
And no shade to the model, but Shea Couleé wore it better.
