With every new hairstyle, Gabrielle Union surprises us while simultaneously taking our breaths away—and her summer looks have been no exception. In late June, the ’90s icon turned heads at Milan Fashion Week with her radiant skin and long hairstyles. One day she had chunky knee-length cornrows, styled by hairstylist Issac Poleon, and the next, Poleon replaced those braids with a low, slicked-back twisted ponytail with a pouf at the end. Now, a little over a month later, she’s looking unbelievably stunning with a curly updo that looks like a pixie cut.
On July 23, the actor was spotted in the streets of Los Angeles celebrating her friend’s bachelorette party with a cut-out black jumpsuit and faux pixie. A closer look at the pixie shows that about half of her head was sectioned and twisted upwards to form the updo. Each two-strand twist connects together at the crown of her head while the rest of her ringlets flow over the side of her face, creating a curly side bang.
Gabrielle Union’s twisted faux pixie and daring jumpsuit are conversation starters on their own, surely, but her luminous skin is certainly trying to steal the spotlight. Her neutral makeup is defined by the winged liner on her eyes and the glossy brown tint on her lips. We don’t know what kind of highlighter or skin-care routine Union has, but whatever it is, it’s working out perfectly. Her skin is so radiant it’s hard to tell which is brighter, her smile or her skin.
