Elle Fanning took ‘00s fashion to the extreme, channeling her best Paris Hilton for a recent W photoshoot. We’re certainly used to the star experimenting with her style, but this particular look has us ready to embrace an era of trucker hats and graphic tees.
‘00s Elle Fanning was part of W’s 2022 TV portfolio, which outfitted stars to look like their favorite television characters. Elle’s choice of ‘fit was inspired by Paris Hilton’s time on The Simple Life. The star truly nailed the look, wearing camouflage-printed overalls over a bright pink bikini top. She paired the top with underwear, which peeked out on one side of the overalls.
Of course, a Paris-inspired look isn’t complete without accessories, and Elle was photographed truly prepared. She wore a pink Von Dutch trucker hat, ‘00s sunglasses, and heels. For the final ’fit touch, Elle carried a stuffed dog, which was presumably done in tribute to Paris’s Simple Life companion Tinkerbell. Elle Fanning also told W that she first discovered the show through her sister Dakota, and shared that she rewatches the series pretty frequently. “I love Nicole Richie. I love Paris Hilton. I’ve gotten to meet Paris a couple [of] times, and she is the nicest and coolest. It was so fascinating hearing in Paris’s documentary how she put on this persona for the reality show. It’s quite clever,” she told W.
“My sister and I would watch it and act out the scenes,” she continued. “I would normally be Nicole Richie, and she would be Paris. We would say ‘That’s hot’ and ‘Loves it.’ Finally, I get to dress up as Paris and have the dog, because Dakota always had the Chihuahua.”
