Quinta Brunson–creator and star of breakout comedy Abbott Elementary–arrived at the 2022 Emmys in a custom gown that is nothing short of stunning. In shades of copper and bronze, the double nominee (for acting and writing) looks like a cross between a mermaid and the Statue of Liberty before she turned green. Lemme show you!
Here’s Quinta Brunson in a custom Dolce & Gabbana gown with metallic detailing on the bodice and a liquid-like metallic skirt. Jared Lehr jewels on her ears and fingers, plus the frankly genius sheer gloves, complete the look. The shoes appear to be custom like the dress.
Absolutely gorgeous. Her stylist Bryon Javar, hairdresser Alexander Armand and makeup artist Renee Loiz have truly polished her to a shine.
Now, here’s Lady Liberty in copper before the salt air (or whatever, I’m not a scientist) turned her green.
Yeah, I’ll say it: Brunson wore it better.
Shortly after her series was nominated for a slew of Emmys, Brunson spoke to Glamour about her skincare routine, and how she uses Abbott Elementary to show that beauty doesn’t just have one look.
“It’s something I’m hoping to do with Abbott Elementary, which is having four women on the same show who I really feel are beautiful in their own way. They don’t all have to look the same or even close to looking the same to be considered beautiful. Ava is so different from Barbara, and so different from Melissa, and of course so different from Janine,” she said. “Every woman on my show is just gorgeous. They may not be the model beauty-standard gorgeous, but to me, they represent women in my life and I think they’re incredible. And that’s important to me to be able to show what real women look like.”
