I think the floral detail serves as a slight distraction, and Bianca’s gown looks better than it did on the runway.
When it comes to my favourite from this group, Amirah Vann wins in this A.L.C Delfina asymmetric dress from the Pre-Fall 2022 collection.
It has a lot to do with the colour, the simplicity of the styling and the fact that pleats are currently trending on the red carpet.
Issa Rae wore a Mônot strapless gown featuring the designer’s clean lines, but was void of any cut-outs.
Let’s start with the positives. I like this mauve colour on Quinta Brunson, along with the silhouette and the embellishments.
But the mid-section of this gown prevents me from loving this gown.
She deserves better.
This Bibhu Mohapatra Spring 2020 dress is cute, but I wish it was all-black and longer as this was boarding on twee for Nia Long, despite the deep plunging neckline.
Giuseppe Zanotti Venere sandals completed her look.
If you’ve having déjà vu when it comes to Meagan Good’s Kamilla Purshie Spring 2022 dress, that’s because it was worn by Alexandra Shipp to the ‘Tick Tick Boom’ New York premiere almost a year ago.
It’s still giving me Count Dracula vibes, but I prefer Meagan’s version of this dress on account of the asymmetric skirt. Alexandra’s had a high-low cut.
Melody Thornton wore an off-the-shoulder red gown styled with a black Isabel Marant clutch.
