And while in summer we find ourselves naturally attracted to the lighter, brighter shades in our beauty repertoire, when it comes to the colder months, it’s time to take things down a little. Enter oxbloods, deep plums, burnished reds, and other rich shades, for the eyes, lips or fingertips.

Hailey Bieber certainly knows what’s up, having posted a series of photographs on Instagram over the weekend that document an “Oct 1” look to take note of. Wearing her trademark slicked-back bun and with the glossiest skin going, the model’s bronze glow and neon ensemble were the only touches of summer in her look. The rest screamed “autumn.”
