Wall Street chic might be trending, but Jennifer Lopez’s take on pinstripes is more risky business than buttoned-up. Where Penélope Cruz, Irina Shayk and Bella Hadid have all worn shirts and ties on the red carpet in recent weeks, there was nothing androgynous about the newlywed singer’s look for the Ralph Lauren spring/summer 2023 show in LA: a charcoal pinstripe wrap dress with her signature plummeting neckline. The twist? A matching fedora. Think ’20s mobster, but make it Lopez-level sexy.

It was the first joint appearance on a red carpet for Bennifer since their wedding in Georgia in August (the bride wore no fewer than three Ralph Lauren gowns), and Ben complemented his wife in a flecked charcoal suit. The outing evoked another high-profile date night a year ago, when they arrived at the Met Gala arm in arm. Lopez wore another form-fitting Ralph Lauren dress with a matching hat at that event, but mercifully, the masks are no longer required.
This tuxedo alternative is a change for Jennifer after her summer of love with Ben. The couple spent their honeymoon hopping around the Mediterranean, with newlywed Lopez radiant in a honeymoon wardrobe made up chiefly of floaty dresses by Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Et Ochs, Oscar de la Renta and Reformation. Now autumn is here and she’s swapped the frills for something sharper, but that newlywed glow is going nowhere.
