The ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ screening was held at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture on Monday (October 30) in Washington, DC., with Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira and Angela Bassett in attendance.
Letitia Wright continued her run of impressive suits wearing a Schiaparelli Spring 2023 look.
At first this appears to be a pretty standard suit with the brand signature gold embroidery, but on closer inspection the look featured a unpeaked collar and a notched lapel for yet another one of Letitia presentations of blazers with unique features.
She has been the most consistent throughout the promo tour.
I adore the rich chocolate colour, but as someone who grew up having to wear tops, jackets, blazers and shirts with sleeves that were too short (I have freakishly long arms), the first thing I noticed is how short the sleeves are.
I don’t feel like it’s a deal breaker on Letitia though.
Briony Raymond earrings completed her look.
Lupita Nyong’o’s M.O. for this promo tour is clearly oversized suits, or suits that just completely drown her petite frame.
I can’t say that I like anything about this Burberry suit.
I could’ve lived with the blazer, but trousers are so unflattering.
Malone Souliers Montana silver laser-cut mirror leather cut-out pumps and a Pipatchara bag completed her look.
From the buttons and the hat, I’m sure you knew that Danai Gurira was wearing a Schiaparelli look which hails from the same Spring 2023 collection as Letitia’s suit.
Did the hat take this into costume territory?
I think that the styling elevated the look, as this dress on its own wouldn’t have been as impactful.
Angela Bassett wore an Azzi & Osta Fall 2019 Couture bustier and skirt.
Dialling down the sculptural nature of the skirt feels like bad idea, as the bottom half of this look is weighing her down.
