Following Celine’s recent Spring Summer 2023 womenswear debut cast amid a sandy beach town on the French Riviera, acclaimed creative director Hedi Slimane is captivating us once more with the upcoming launch of his Winter 2023 collection. Drafted to showcase on December 8th at the 12-story, 155-foot Art Deco Los Angeles hotspot, The Wiltern, the coveted collection will exhibit the intangible mind of Slimane in a space renowned for its warmth and opulence.
Compared to the Winter 2022 exhibition cast in two historic Parisian landmarks – the halls of Salons D’Apparat of the Hôtel de la Marine and Hôtel National Des Invalides on the city’s West Bank – this season’s unveiling seems to be appealing once again to Celine’s archival spirit. A 1930’s theater, The Wiltern’s debut will inevitably be underlined as a celebration of Celine craftsmanship, mirroring the inner workings of Slimane’s design acumen.
Alongside the reveal, Celine has released a slew of Winter handbags, including the infamous Matelassé Monochrome bag, aka the “It Bag,” With its sleek design and intricately quilted material, the bag captures all of new wave fashion aesthetics with a refined allure.
