Apparently, nine-year-old Prince George’s favorite part of his great-grandmother’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations was the flashy, bright blue sequined outfit Craig David wore for his performance. And this is the first time I’ve ever felt like I could relate to this kid because I also love a sparkly jacket.

On The Jonathan Ross Show, David said he was approached by Prince William at the Buckingham Palace afterparty, where the prince informed him of George’s appreciation for the look. “Prince William walks over, he comes over, says, ‘My son George was going crazy for the blue sequined outfit that you were wearing,’” David explained, via People. “My mum was there, I said, ‘Lovely to meet you, love that George loved the outfit.’”

Prince George is finally allowed to wear long pants (royal boys only wear shorts until they’re 8-years-old, according to Harper’s Bazaar, for some reason), but he’s still not exactly free to express himself through fashion just yet. I hope he’s got a giant dress-up closet at home filled with all the sequined garments he could wish, because in public, Little Mr. Third In Line for the Throne is mostly dressed in blue polos and cable knit pullovers. Even his sister Princess Charlotte—who has the wardrobe of my Secret Garden loving childhood dreams—seems to have a little more variety in her closet, including a bright red sequined and tulle dress.

This is a family that regularly bedecks themselves in sashes and rare jewels and golden jackets, at the end of the day. So, I wanna see Prince George in some dang sequins.
