Tom Brady is standing by the decision that seemingly led to the end of his marriage to Gisele Bündchen.

During a recent press conference, the NFL quarterback was asked if he regrets coming out of retirement to continue playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Though the question was asked in regard to the Buccaneer’s rough season, his return reportedly caused significant tension with his now ex-wife.

“Zero, no. Definitely not,” Brady replied, per ESPN. “I returned because I felt like I wanted to compete, and I spoke to the team about it and they were excited to have me back. I don’t really regret those types of things—I think when I commit to it I mean it, and I do my best and try to give everything I can to this particular opportunity.”

Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen got married in 2009 and share two children: 12-year-old Benjamin and nine-year-old Vivian. He also shares a 15-year-old son named Jack with his ex Bridget Moynahan. In February 2022, Brady announced his retirement from football only to retract that decision a month later. After months of separation rumors, Bündchen announced their divorce on October 28.

“With much gratitude for our time together, Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce,” Bündchen wrote in an Instagram story. “My priority has always been and will continue to be our children whom I love with all my heart. The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we had together and only wish the best for Tom always.”

Brady may not be the only one without regrets. On November 12, the supermodel sparked dating rumors after she was spotted having dinner with jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente and her two children in Costa Rica.
