It looks like I published Janelle Monáe prom tour looks for ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ too early, as the actress attended the Paris premiere held at La Cinematheque on Thursday (December 15) in France.
And France is the place where the the actress returned to one half of her favourite colour combo: black, wearing an Alexandre Vauthier chenille turtleneck sweater and velvet midi skirt from the Fall 2022 Haute Couture collection.
It’s not often we get a demure Monáe and I have to say I’m shocked.
She didn’t even give us statement jewels, or accessories; just the slouchy, satin boots we saw on the runway.
It’s like she’s been banging a drum this entire tour with two mallets, then opted softly playing the flute in Paris.
Do you like this change of pace from Janelle, or is the contrast too stark for you to get your head around?
I prefer a drama-filled Janelle, but I’m also very intrigued by this look.
