Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, wore a necklace steeped in meaning as she stepped out for an engagement on Thursday, January 19.
Kate, 40, sported a twinkling necklace with a citrine pendant—the birthstone of November birthdays like King Charles III—to host a reception for wheelchair rugby players at Hampton Court Palace. The stone, which has a rich amber color, is said to hold special properties.
“The Citrine Baby Treasure Necklace is made using 100% recycled solid 9ct yellow gold and set with a beautiful citrine,” the company, Daniella Draper, explains on its website. “The birthstone for November, citrine assists in manifesting your biggest dreams, bringing in more success and prosperity.”
The color of the jewel was the perfect counterpoint to the plum color of the Princess of Wales’ Roland Mouret suit—a classic slim flit blazer and trousers ensemble that she previously wore during her royal tour of Boston at the start of December. She finished the outfit with suede burgundy heels, gold hoop earrings by Danielle Draper, and a soft rose pink sweater that she previously wore in 2020.
