There were signs that the ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ actress was moving away from the slightly predictable (yet beautiful) Elie Saab gowns, into a new fashion era before awards season, but were you expecting this Schiaparelli Fall 2022 Haute Couture look?
There is a lot to contend from the velvet amber cropped jacket embroidered with arabesque three-dimensional pansies in black sequins, strass, tassels and fringes.
Then we factor in the glacial blue bouillonné skirt.
I have to say I fully admire how she jumped in this awards season with both feet, rather than dipping her toe, but I’m not entirely convinced by the jacket as it’s giving me matador vibes.
I could’ve been swayed had she worn the jacket with a simple pair of black trousers, but then we would be back in the “playing it safe” pool.
