This is a trend which first had a chokehold on celebrity fashion back in 2021 with the likes of Chris Lee, Jennifer Lopez, Alessandra Ambrosio and Rosalía all popularizing this look.
These were the kind of shoulders that would have made a Fame-era Lady Gaga swoon.
Two years later we have Alison Brie is bring the look back; wearing a dress from Balmain’s Pre-Fall 2023 collection.
As recent as this look is, it feels quite dated.
A super high ponytail, and a killer pair of heels may have changed my opinion about this look because this dress deserved better than those chunky heels.
