To help you easily recreate these looks at home, we’ve asked the experts behind these trends to explain how they’ve been executed and what products they’ve used.
Let these beauty trends shake off the winter blues and bring some excitement as we enter the warmer months. Ahead, we’ve compiled the standout beauty and hair trends from fashion week that are guaranteed to end up on everyone’s beauty mood boards for the weeks to come.
Glossy Cherry Lips
Alice + Olivia’s Fall Winter 2023 presentation was all about bold, bright colors paired with their classic cool-girl edge. Creating a makeup look to match this energy was no easy feat, but Elyse Reneau was up for the challenge. The Executive Director of Global Beauty at Too Faced paired the brand’s looks with an equally bold red lip, finished off with a lip gloss to create a juicy sheen. To create this look, Elyse used the Lady Bold Lip Liner, Lady Bold Cream Lipstick, and Lip Injection Lip Gloss Max Plump.
Another notable mention at the show was the bold, smoldering eye, which easily transitions from the runway to the afterparty. With one swipe of Shell We Dance from the Born This Way Sunset Stripped Palette, you’re all set to go.

Ballerina Buns
Another look that drew our eye was the classic ballerina bun, which saw several iterations this season. But with each of them, the effortless updo was turned on its head, getting a modern, high-fashion update. At Jason Wu, models touted completely slicked-back buns for the epitome of New York chic while at the Alice + Olivia presentation, the bun emerged again–in a looser form, but equally chic. Nick Stenson played off the classic chignon bun by adding texture to its classic silhouette. “These looks are a celebration of bringing romanticism back into the hair scene,” Nick shares with V. To create the look, Nick used Nick Stenson Beauty Smoothing Créme and Texture Spray. And if you’re feeling extra festive, add a few hair gems or clips to make your bun really pop.

Dewy Skin
We’ve seen Dieux Skin everywhere this fashion season–from Collina Strada and Sandy Liang to Marrissa Wilson and Alejandra Alonso Rojas. The women-owned beauty brand has been powering Fall Winter 2023 with its super hydrating moisturizers and eye gels. At Tia Adeola, Dieux’s products were really on show, as models sported fresh-faced beauty. By highlighting their clear complexion, the simple beauty allowed Tia’s looks to do most of the talking.
But this trend towards dewy, glowy skin was not limited to just fresh-faced looks. We saw glowy makeup looks take over Tory Burch, ADEAM, and Luar. At Christian Cowan, models walked down the runway sporting extra glowy makeup with help from the Photo Finish Illuminate Glow Primer. “What’s old is new again,” said Lori Taylor Davis, Smashbox Global Pro Lead Artist. “And what’s dull is gone. We’re transmuting a genuine glow from within – quite literally, with long-wearing performance and skin-first ingredients stealing the show.”
Metallic Eyeshadow
Fans of the classic smokey eye can rejoice as the classic makeup look is back and better than ever. This season it is reimagined with warm tones and glitter shadow. “This look reflects this season’s outfits by combining sexy touches with a bit of edge. Eyes are the punctuation of these looks with beautiful smoky eyes that give a nod to cinema,” shares Diane Kendal, lead makeup artist for Jason Wu Beauty. To create the look for yourself, apply your usual smokey eye shadow and then apply the gold shimmers from the Flora 25 Eyeshadow Palette to the inner corners.
Wet Hair
If you haven’t tried the wet hair trend yet, now might just be a perfect time. For the Altuzarra runway show, hairstylist Jawara put a twist on the iconic look by parting the hair to the side, with the high point of the left brow serving as a reference point. Sarah Potempa, celebrity hairstylist and founder of Beachwaver, opted for a more traditional, tousled wet hair look for Talia Leigh. To create the look, she applied Inner Strength Avocado Oil Protein Mask over damp hair and finished it off with Bring Balance Organic Argan + Marula Hair Oil.
