It’s finally happening—Beyoncé is going on tour.
Fans have been waiting patiently since Bey released Renaissance last summer for a global tour announcement, and now, just in time for Black History month, the singer has delivered.
Early on Wednesday, February 1, Queen Bey dropped a spicy pic on Instagram. In the photo, she’s wearing what can only be described as a bejeweled string bikini paired with a silver cowboy hat that matches the silver horse she’s riding. It also looks like she’s wearing fringed thigh-high boots. Text over the image reads, “Renaissance World Tour,” which is also the only text she offered in the caption. It’s giving western but make it disco vibes. (See it here.)
The Renaissance tour is Beyoncé’s first tour since her On the Run II shows in 2018 alongside her husband Jay-Z. Now that a tour is official, our souls will remain unbroken until we have to endure Ticketmaster. According to her official site, the tour begins in Europe in May, comes to the U.S. in July, and will end in New Orleans in September.
Beyoncé’s beloved dance album Renaissance was released on July 29, 2022 to high acclaim, but the pop star released no music videos for any of its singles, and until today, there was no sign of a tour on the horizon.
Last year, Beyoncé said that Renaissance is part one of a three-part series of albums. “This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic,” she wrote. “A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative. Creating this album allowed me a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world. It allowed me to feel free and adventurous in a time when little else was moving.” Part two coming soon?
