The sheer dress trend shows no signs of slowing down any time soon, and the black Cult Gaia slip Emily Ratajkowski wore to a New York fashion week party on February 8 is a perfect example. EmRata looked stunning (as per) in the Kennedy Gown—a tea-length black dress with elaborate beaded floral appliqués over the sheer fabric keeping things mostly modest (in a very First Testament way). The podcaster and memoirist also carried a beaded handbag by the same brand and rounded out her ensemble with simple black sandals, a soft updo, and a classic smokey eye.
Ratajkowski’s sexy Adam-and-Eve-esque look was for the opening of Cult Gaia’s first NY flagship store, called The Ark, in the chic Soho neighborhood of Manhattan. According to the press release, guests got to sip custom cocktails and preview the store before the venue transformed into “Club Gaia.”
As sexy as the sheer dress is, it’s not even the most sheer look she’s rocked for New York fashion week this year. Earlier in the week, the model was photographed outside the Marc Jacobs runway show in an all-taupe ensemble with a furry bomber jacket over a totally sheer top. On Instagram, EmRata posted a video of herself in the Marc Jacobs outfit with the cheeky caption, “I heard they freed the nip on instagram so.”
Because hey, since when has Emily Ratajkowski ever been afraid of a little high-fashion nudity? Never, that’s when.
