The pictures from the W Magazine’s Annual Best Performances Party held at the Chateau Marmont on Friday (February 24) in Los Angeles, California, weren’t great, but Jennifer Lawrence instantly caught my eye.
Mostly because she wasn’t wearing Dior.
Pieter Mulier’s Alaïa has been receiving a lot of love at the moment, but the last two outings from the Spring 2023 collection – Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Elizabeth Banks – haven’t gone down too well.
Posing with W Magazine Editor in Chief Sara Moonves (clad in Cate Blanchett’s Proenza Schouler look), Jennifer Lawrence wore an Alaïa Spring 2023 dress which was part blazer, part draped leather skirt.
As happy as I am to see her wearing another label, I don’t like the way she styled it.
From the runway, it is pretty clear to me that this wasn’t intended to be a dress with a plunging neckline, which is why Jennifer’s dress appears picked apart.
Are we going to need reruns for every Alaïa outing?
I will give Jennifer the benefit of the doubt, considering this isn’t a great picture.
