Before taking to the stage to perform a medley of ‘2 Be Loved’ and ‘About Damn Time’ at The BRIT Awards on Saturday (February 11), Lizzo blew me away with her latest red carpet look.
Robert Wun’s Spring 2023 pleats seems to be dominating the red carpet at the moment – Janelle Monáe and Danai Gurira immediately spring to mind.
And this silhouette is very similar to the dress Quinta Brunson wore to the 2023 Critics’ Choice Awards.
But despite the déjà vu of it all, this is one of my favourite Lizzo looks to date.
It’s statement making, flattering, and most importantly it’s not a tent, or a trash bag.
Pīferi sandals, and jewels from Anabela Chan and Miss Sohee completed this breath-taking look.
I’m adding this to Lizzo’s hall of fame.
For the performance, Lizzo wore a custom look from Act Nº1 which was a two-fer.
A longer skirt revealed a shorter skirt as the performance became more energetic.
Looking at these pictures you would think that the detail around her neck would get in the way of her performance, but it just elegantly bounced along behind her.
On Instagram Lizzo wrote, “Genuinely not over how good I looked at the Brit’s last night—.”
I feel exactly the same way about both looks.
