Super Bowl LVII takes place on Sunday (February 12), where the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Kansas City Chiefs at the State Farm Stadium in Arizona.
The game usually lasts about three-and-a-half hours, with a 30-minute break in the middle, which is where Rihanna will make her return to the stage for the first time since the 2018 Grammys where she performed live with DJ Khaled.
Earlier today (February 9) the singer attended the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show press conference held at Phoenix Convention Center which was hosted by Apple Music.
She is told the host that she will be keeping the set list under wraps, but I would imagine we will get a medley of ‘Umbrella,’ ‘We Found Love,’ ‘Diamonds,’ ‘Rude Boy,’ ‘Work,’ ‘SOS,’ ‘Only Girl (in the World),’ ‘Pon de Replay,’ ‘Disturbia,’ ‘Don’t Stop the Music,’ ‘This is What You Came For’).
If she doesn’t fit ‘Only Girl (in the World)’ into her 15 minutes set, I’d be really upset. That is my jam.
I am both excited and apprehensive about her stage outfits mostly because Rihanna’s style has been very hit or miss in recent times, with more misses than we’re used to.
On this occasion I love how she’s not afraid to rock this jacquard Alaïa crocodile skirt paired with an Alaïa leather and shearling draped jacket from the Spring 2023 collection.
I’m sure some would have loved Rihanna to follow the runway styling with the tights, and say that the double slits are too high, especially for an event where she was seated most of the time, but what’s a Rihanna look without at least one (or in this case two) bold detail(s)?
My only issue with this look is the matching wrap around sandals.
I’ve just never found this style of footwear flattering, this is no exception.
Thoughts?
