Oh, they grow up so fast. Florence Pugh’s rapidly evolving red carpet style was on full display at the Academy Awards on Sunday, March 12, where she was a presenter. At her first Oscars, in 2020, you may remember that she wore a teal belted, tiered dress to mixed reviews from fashion critics. But this year, there’s no denying Miss Flo belongs on the best-dressed list.
The Don’t Worry Darling actor wore a strapless, billowing Valentino Couture gown that alone would have had us talking. However, it’s the surprise underneath the dress that took the look to the next level: a pair of peekaboo black micro shorts. In a red-carpet interview with E!, Pugh described the look as “bit of romantic, bit of punk.”
Pugh accessorized the outfit with a pair of black platform heels, pink tourmaline and diamond earrings, and a sculptural Tiffany & Co. necklace. Her beauty look was inspired too—especially when it came to the hair, which appeared to be a ponytail flipped up to create a chic micro fringe. A little black bow completed the look.
