Due to expected rainfall on Friday, the Versace Fall 2023 presentation was rescheduled for Thursday (March 8), and considering the location, this was necessary, because you couldn’t have recreated the drama, atmosphere, or the backdrop inside a venue.
I have been to many Versace shows – my favourite was the Supermodel Spring 2018 runway reunion – and when I discovered that the Fall 2023 show was in LA, I booked my ticket immediately.
Wherever Versace goes, I go. It is the brand which made me fall in love with fashion, and to experience this show was a dream come true.
Presenting this show in LA the week of the Oscars, when every celebrity and stylist is in town made perfect sense.
Donatella Versace said, “For me, Los Angeles is a natural home for us because we share the DNA of energy, power, creativity, and imagination. Together at this show we share those values around the globe.”
When it comes to the front row, it was jam-packed with celebrities as you can imagine.
And I placed myself at the start of the step and repeat, where they gathered to have their pictures taken.
Miley Cyrus stood out the most because she opted to wear an extravagant Atelier Versace Spring 2023 ombre gown.
The gown is light and airy, but the chains gave this look an edge which made this the perfect match for Miley.
Lil Nas X shimmed his way down the red carpet wearing this custom Versace look which incorporated elements from the Fall 2023 collection.
Considering this iconic 2021 Met Gala look, I’m sure his name was the first on the invite list.
Seeing him work the red carpet was worth the journey alone. The man has charisma.
Anne Hathaway and Versace are proving to be quite the unexpected duo.
The actress has been experimenting a lot this year as she steps into her bombshell era as this Versace crocodile embossed dress perfectly demonstrates.
It looks like those Bulgari jewels are her accessory du jour this week.
Speaking of bombshells, Lily James was purring like a black panther as she made her way down the red carpet.
You won’t be surprised to see that Dua Lipa was there, as the British singer has been a long-time friend of the house, wearing the label on several occasions on the red carpet for music ceremonies.
Dua let the dress do all the talking, and what a striking silhouette it is, featuring an exaggerated bustier which was prevalent on the runway.
We’ve seen Dua go heavy on the Versace bling in the past, but on this occasion, she opted for only a gold bangle.
Remember that time when Lucien Laviscount went back to “standard suiting?”
It now feels like a distant memory, as the British actor was back to his usual expressive self, rocking this Versace tan leather suit, with the Versace scarf adding so much flare.
Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade made a stylish entrance as you would expect.
She was the ying in all black, to Dwyane’s more colourful yang.
I consider myself to be very observant, but I was shocked by Simone Ashley when I saw her on the red carpet.
Where did those legs come from?
I was in awe.
What I didn’t realise is that the British actress was giving a preview of the Versace Fall 2023 collection, as this fuchsia and black mini dress was later seen on the runway.
Allison Williams, who has a sparkling promo tour for her film ‘M3GAN,’ opted for a colourful Versace Spring 2023 maxi dress styled with cargo trousers.
I wasn’t a fan of the scarf, but I love the rest of this look.
She was joined by her beau Alexander Dreymon.
As you know I haven’t been a huge fan of Ariana Debose’s red carpet looks, but one thing I will give her, she knows how to pose up a storm on the red carpet.
Which is why it is all the more sadder that she’s not given the tools, because she knows how to work an outfit, I was mesmerised by how she can move. But I shouldn’t be surprised with her dance background.
Bruna Marquezine was also giving us a preview of what was to take the runway, but I wasn’t crazy about the accessories here.
When I tell you I almost fell out when I saw Channing Tatum on this red carpet.
This picture – which I took myself – doesn’t do him any justice.
And this one of Tan France who wore a punk inspired top from the Versace Spring 2023 runway show, as he watched his ‘Next In Fashion’ co-host Gigi Hadid open the show.
Cher was looking as vibrant and effervescent as ever in this shimmering purple Versace look, which she could have worn in any decade of her career.
Chris Lee opted for a surprisingly simple Versace Fall 2023 look.
The girl of the moment Danielle Deadwyler stood out thanks to the stunning sparkling bralette.
Also those labels that many of you object to, now feature on Versace blazers, jackets and overcoats.
I love the sheerness with the tailoring. Demi Moore looked so elegant.
It’s not a party in LA without the Hilton’s. The most surprising thing about this picture is the Versace platform that Katy is wearing.
Hunter Doohan rocked an intriguing Versace outfit that was part bathing suit.
Marco Mengoni was one of my favourites at this event. I particularly love the Versace Fall 2023 mesh top.
Matt Bomer is always the picture of elegance, and this was no exception.
It was nice to see him rocking this purple shade. I’d love to see more colour on him.
Michaela Jaé Rodriguez channelled her inner Tina Turner in this Versace fringed mini dress.
Naomi Ackie was serving up London streetwear vibes with the Versace look.
Considering how the temperature dropped just before the show started, she was wise to rock this coat.
Pamela Anderson’s Versace look was giving repurposed Christmas tinsel, and plenty of flare which you expect at a Versace show.
I gasped as we walked side by side as she exited the venue after the show.
Sabrina Elba was one of the first to arrive. The model sure does love a hooded look, as she rocked this crushed velvet Versace LBD.
