Gigi Hadid wore eight looks over two days promoting the newest season of her show ’Next in Fashion with Tan France on Monday (February 27).
I bet New Yorkers thought for a moment that Fashion Week had returned again so soon.
Were six looks in one day (eight in total) necessary?
Yes. You know I love a multi-looks-in-one-day promo tour, which was made famous by Gigi’s friend Blake Lively, so let’s break them down.
Starting off her day with a guest appearance on ‘Good Morning America,’ the model’s first look was from the Valentino Pre-Fall 2023 collection.
I know that some of your heads are exploding seeing Gigi wearing gloves and Calzedonia tights with a crop top in New York in the middle of February.
Even if she wasn’t promoting a fashion show, I would still be enamoured by this look, especially everything from the waist down.
Grey isn’t my favourite colour, so the embellished, bow accented skirt provides the most intrigue followed by the red satin Valentino Garavani Nite-Out pumps.
Candy Ice earrings completed her look.
Leaving the ‘Good Morning America’ studios, the model channelled her inner Neo wearing an all-black look.
This Mugler Fall 2022 bodysuit and The Frankie Shop bomber jacket feels like a look her sister Bella would wear, as she is the moody, mysterious one, whereas Gigi’s style usually has more colour.
So this look was a refreshing change of pace, as I loved to see her badass side.
Slouchy boots and a white gold YESSAYAN jewels completed her look.
Gigi’s next stop was ‘The Today Show’ where she rocked a chic monochromatic tan oversized jacket, boxer shorts and shirt dress from the Brandon Maxwell Fall 2023 collection.
I love how the neatly tailored pieces and silhouette taps into the designer’s newfound love for minimalism.
Some might feel that the waistband on the boxer shorts isn’t in tune with the rest of the look, but I love how they give the look a slight edge, otherwise this would’ve felt very Korsy to me.
Gold pumps, Calzedonia tights and Al Zain rings completed her look.
Gigi is known for her love of jeans – specifically designed by Ética, but on this occasion she opted to do something a little differently by wearing a pair from the streetwear brand KidSuper.
The designer is renowned for his playful designs and taking them to new extremes like this pair where a drawing of the quote “I Climbed The Fire Escape To See the Stars” is the feature.
I’m not sure many will love this ‘80s inspired look, but I’m enjoying the variety that Gigi is presenting.
Anabela Chan earrings and white booties completed her look.
Gigi promoted ‘Next in Fashion’ on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,’ where she also talked about shooting over 35 covers of Vogue, and paying homage to her Dutch roots in her Vogue Netherlands cover.
The model tapped into the ‘80s again wearing an Alexandre Vauthier green leather hooded jacket, leggings, and boots from the Spring 2023 Haute Couture collection.
You won’t be surprised to learn that this look was my favourite as it was just was dripping with high-fashion, Grace Jones inspired appeal.
Anabela Chan earrings and an Al Zain ring completed her look.
Gigi’s final look of Monday night was worn to the Netflix ‘Next In Fashion’ Tastemaker Event.
This look should be instantly recognisable to you for the eye print alone, as we’ve seen it on Cate Blanchett.
The feminine silhouette of this cold shoulder Alexander McQueen Spring 2023 dress is given a grittier edge to the thanks to the graphic print.
Christian Louboutin Hot Chick Sling patent leather red pumps enlivens the print further.
The following day the model was spotted leaving her hotel wearing a Malaikaraiss Fall 2023 all white look.
No doubt Gigi was inspired by the look book, but I’m not a fan of the ballet-inspired shoes here, and I wish the maximalist bag wasn’t styled with her minimalist look.
If you were to tell me that I could keep one of these eight looks, this Altuzarra Rhea hand-dyed maxi dress from the Fall 2023 dress would be it.
Mostly on account of the warm hues, I love the fit, the colour gives you a range of styling opportunities and because I would wear this dress to death and at any given opportunity.
But my favourite overall on Gigi was the Alexandre Vauthier.
I now can’t wait to watch ‘Next in Fashion’ which premieres on March 3 if this promo tour is anything to go by.
