Liam who? Miley Cyrus celebrated the release of her latest studio album, Endless Summer Vacation, alongside her rarely seen boyfriend of over a year, Maxx Morando.
According to W, Cyrus and Morando stopped at the Versace fall-winter 2023 fashion show in Los Angeles on March 9 before heading to her Gucci-hosted album-release party at the Gucci Osteria in Beverly Hills. Also in attendance to celebrate Cyrus’s latest debut were Baz Luhrmann, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Adam DiMarco, and others.
The pair have been romantic since at least December of 2021, according to People, when they were seen getting cozy backstage at her New Year’s Eve special, Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party. Since then, Cyrus and Morando—who is the 24-year-old drummer for the band Liily—have kept their romance mostly under wraps. They rarely pop up on each other’s social media, and their hand-holding appearance at the Versace show was one of the few times they’ve made their relationship known publicly.
While Cyrus has been busy living it up and enjoying her new relationship, her fans have been parsing the lyrics of every track on Endless Summer Vacation for veiled (and not so veiled) references to her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth. Especially on TikTok, Miley stans have been particularly focused on rumors that Hemsworth cheated during their marriage, rumors which appeared close to confirmed with the lyrics to “Muddy Feet” from the album. “And you smell like perfume that I didn’t purchase,” she sings. “Now I know why you’ve been closing the curtains.”
If Miley Cyrus is singing about her cheating ex-husband in “Muddy Feet,” maybe she’s singing about Morando on “River,” which goes, “Blowing bubbles in the bath, I can’t stop from thinking lately, / You could be the one, have the honor of my babies.”
