Tida Swinton made her first red carpet appearance of the year with two looks from Charles Jeffrey Loverboy during the 2023 SXSW Conference and Festivals on Monday (March 13) in Austin, Texas,
You may remember that the actress gave this designer their red carpet debut back in December for The British Fashion Awards, as she wore two custom Charles Jeffrey Loverboy pieces adorned with prints by John Byrne in a floor-length gown and a double-breasted trench coat, with the looks acting as a preview of sorts to his Milan Fashion Week debut.
Considering Tilda’s Scottish heritage, the Charles Jeffrey Loverboy wrap kilt and Fairisle knitted vest feels rather apt.
Styled with a hooded powermesh long-sleeved top, had I not known she was in Texas, I would have thought she was at Sundance Film Festival due the cosy elements of this outfit, which are perfectly suited to that icy festival.
For the ‘Problemista’ premiere, Tilda rocked a second Charles Jeffrey Loverboy wrap kilt, with this one featuring the famed John Byrne’s ‘American Boy’ print.
Keeping the kilt in focus, she paired it with a mustard shirt and tie ensuring this look stayed true to her androgynous and eclectic style.
Which look did you prefer?
They are equally characterful, so I’m having trouble deciding.
