The 27-year-old looked fierce as ever in her silver, feline-inspired getup which boasted sequin embellishments, a body-hugging mermaid silhouette with a feathered train, and a hooded accent that added to the gown’s mystique — and even included cat ears. Stylist Brett Alan Nelson sourced the star’s ensemble, which was teamed with a dazzling diamond headpiece and arm-cuff jewelry to match. Keeping in line with the cat theme, Ernesto Casillas added some extra makeup beneath Doja’s nose to give it a perky, feline-like flair and created a sassy cat-eye design using Charlotte Tilbury’s Feline Flick liquid eyeliner. With this year’s Met Gala honoring Lagerfeld’s legacy, it was expected that attendees might pay homage to the creative director through their red carpet looks — though the tributes to the fashion tycoon’s cat, Choupette, were a bit more unexpected. Even in a sea of silver, gold, and metallic tones, Doja Cat managed to stand out with her dazzling, sequin-adorned gown and dramatic, backless frame. This wasn’t the first time the star’s fashion choices have managed to make a serious statement on the red carpet. Just recently, the rapper left little to the imagination in a sheer, thong-baring Valentino dress at the Time 100 Gala, and she also rocked a lacy, Roberto Cavalli minidress with cutouts at the Prince’s Trust Global Gala just last month. It was only a matter of time before she lived up to her name and fully embraced her inner kitten. Take a closer look at Doja Cat’s dazzling Met Gala ensemble below.
