Elle Fanning shared a post on Instagram which gave us a deeper insight into her 2023 Met Gala look.
The post reflected on her time as a teenager working with Karl Lagerfeld, as he photographed her for his ‘Little Black Jacket’ book in which she wore a signature tweed Chanel black jacket over a white dress with a daisy crown.
That memory inspired her Met Gala look which saw her dressed in a custom Vivienne Westwood upcycled lace gown with the bridal look complete with a black bolero and Stephen Jones daisy crown.
At first, I wasn’t on board with the bolero, but the bridal vibes would’ve been more apparent without it.
Once you hear about the story, the bolero makes sense, and if anything, both the charm and romance of the look is amplified.
