Irina Shayk wore a barely there leather top and matching low-rise skirt on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday, May 21, and—love it or hate it—this look is undoubtedly giving Julia Fox.
For the premiere of Firebrand, the 37-year-old model wore a black and red leather bra top made of two thin strap-like pieces that cross over across her chest, creating an “X” shape and revealing her entire toned torso. The matching maxiskirt has a mermaid fit, an extremely low rise (sincere apologies to anyone who experienced the early 2000s), and a tiny silver zipper. Both pieces are from Mowalola’s fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection.
Shayk contrasted the edgy garment with a glittery statement collar necklace, no makeup makeup, and slick, straight hair, worn down and away from her face.
For the Cannes premiere of Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon on Saturday, May 20, Shayk wore a more feminine look that is essentially the polar opposite of her leather one. Her navy blue gown from Armani Privé was made of a sparkly mesh fabric with a deep-V neckline, and its voluminous skirt was tiered ruffles dotted with small puffs.
For this outfit, she emphasized the femininity of the gown in her makeup with dramatic winged eyeliner and a pink lip, but played up the edge with her hair, which she wore slicked to the side. Shayk accessorized with black heels and huge silver ear cuffs.
