Laura Harrier attended the premiere of ‘White Men Can’t Jump’ held at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California on Thursday (May 11).
While most won’t be in the mood for a velvet dress, especially when Cannes Film Festival starts today, and we are ready for summer gowns and summery hues, there is no denying that this Saint Laurent rich textural smooth velvet piece oozes glamour.
The other key to Laura making this work was by choosing lighter, floatier style rather than the heavy velvet of seasons gone by.
We’ve seen a lot of velvet being worn in summer in recent years.
This has been due to celebrities really, really impatiently wanting to wear the latest Fall looks on the red carpet, but it could also be attributed to the seasonless nature of fashion now, or just because some people are just impervious to overheating.
