Lily Collins turned heads on the Met Gala 2023 red carpet, dazzling in a breathtaking black-and-white gown, sleek bob, and gorgeous glam courtesy of Lancôme.
The Emily in Paris star’s show-stopping look was created by celebrity makeup artist Fiona Stiles using Lancôme products; Stiles exclusively tells Glamour that it was based around her black-and-white corset top with a full black skirt. “The look felt very elegant, and I wanted to keep the makeup refined and beautiful, not a massive statement. It was also quite graphic, though in a classic way,” Stiles says. “I wanted to have a more graphic feeling, and because it was Karl, I was looking at old runway looks from the ’80s and I wanted to do that very sophisticated runway look.”
Stiles also added that she always makes sure to collaborate with Gregory Russell, Collins’s hairstylist, when creating her looks. “We go back-and-forth with inspiration images and talk about the feeling that we want to create with the look overall, what she’s thinking, what I’m thinking, and we work together to make it look cohesive, and then Lily is always a big part of the discussion,” Stiles says.

If you’re feeling influenced (because same), the look is actually fairly simple to DIY. “This look is very versatile, but for at night only, someone could wear it to a party or dinner as it’s relatively easy to recreate,” Stiles says. “If you are looking to recreate this look at home, I would say you will want to minimize one of the features, so if you’re going to go with the stronger eye, I would do maybe a stain on the lip, or if you’re going to go with a lip I would maybe do the eye shape in taupes or light browns and not go as dark.”
