Marc Jacobs dressed Paris Hilton, Anitta, Kendall Jenner and Kim Petras for the 2023 Met Gala on Monday (May 1).
When I saw Anitta in this sculptural custom Marc Jacobs creation, I had a strong feeling of déjà vu.
I thought it might have been an archive Marc Jacobs look at first, but then I recalled that it was Marc Jacobs’ final Fall 2009 collection for Louis Vuitton that this dress feels like it was inspired by.
Tiffany & Co. jewels completed her look.
I was shocked to discover that this was Paris Hilton’s Met Gala debut.
The heiress wears pink so much to the point I would believe her if she said that she invented the colour, but she opted to channel her dark side in gothic glamour by not only opting to wear Marc Jacobs, but by wearing black leather.
Her camellia flower choker ensured this look was on theme, but I’m sure you’re distracted by her Marc Jacobs platforms.
I know Kendall Jenner isn’t always favoured by the majority, especially at the Met Gala, but I was floored by this custom Marc Jacobs creation.
Firstly, I’m in awe of her sheer presence. Her non fussed, “I don’t want to be here” persona usually turns me off, but she was looking every inch a glamazon here.
Secondly, she’s selling those Marc Jacobs boots, or perhaps I’m distracted by the legs.
When it comes to Kim Petras’ custom Marc Jacobs look I would’ve preferred this if it was all one colour and without the baggy gloves.
