The Trooping the Colour, a traditional parade held to mark the British Sovereign’s official birthday, is my least favourite event of the royal calendar, as we usually only see what Catherine, Princess of Wales is wearing from the waist up.
But as this was the first Trooping the Colour held for King Charles III since he ascended to the throne, it looks like things were done a bit differently, as we have a full length picture this year.
Catherine gave us the St Patrick’s Day royal package in head-to-toe green.
I would say that blue is her best colour, but when she wears green, I instantly want to change that opinion.
The Princess looked very elegant wearing a bespoke Andrew Gn Spring 2023 dress which retained the embellished buttons but lost the satin trims on the cuffs and flap pockets from the version in the look book.
The colour coordinated styling was to be expected with a matching Philip Treacy hat, and Aquazzura Purist pumps.
I was half joking about the St Patrick’s Day royal package, yet considering the look was also accessorised with a Cartier gold Shamrock brooch it became clear that this look was a nod to her new role as the Colonel of the Irish Guards.
