Lots of folks were excited when Edward Enninful took over the helm of British Vogue, especially people of color. As the first black to serve as editor-in-chief at a British fashion magazine, Enninful had many accomplishments since taking over British Vogue in 2017.

As a high-profile advocate of diversity and inclusion, Enniful put first mixed-race model on the cover of British Vogue. He also allowed the first man, Timothée Chalamet, to grace the cover of British Vogue in 2022, and he also placed the first climate activist, Greta Thunberg, on the cover.

Enninful will stay within the Conde Nast family, assuming the position of Vogue‘s global creative and cultural advisor. He will continue as association with British Vogue as an editorial advisor.

Bye, bye Gabriela?

Wagging fashion tongues are projecting that Gabriela Hearst is creating her last collection for iconic French brand Chloe. This collection will debut at Paris Fashion Week in September.

Since assuming the creative directorship of Chloe three years ago, Hearst accomplished a lot. During her watch, Chloe’s sales rose close to the billion-dollar mark. And Chloe became the first luxury brand to receive a B-Corp certification.

Though Chloe representatives have confirmed Hearst’s departure, it is believed that Hearst wants to leave and concentrate on her eponymous brand which has been funded by LVMH over the past few years. What has been confirmed is the partnership between Hearst and Angelina Jolie on a capsule collection for Chloe of evening wear and ready-to-wear inspired by Jolie’s glamorous style. The capsule collection will be made from low-impact materials.

Happy 40th Moschino

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Moschino, the iconic Italian fashion brand is staging a special show on September 21 during Milan’s Women’s Fashion Week. Since Moschino has not named a creative director since Jeremy Scott exited the brand, four fashion luminaries—Carlyne Cerf de DudzeeleKatie Grand, Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, and Lucia Liu—will create 10 garments a piece for the special show. All the garments will be inspired by Moschino founder and creative director Franco Moschino.

Franco Moschino died in 1994 and was spearheaded by Rosella Jardini for many years after Franco Moschino’s death. With Jeremy Scott at the helm of Moschino, the brand became the Aeffe Group’s most profitable brand, bringing in 273.3 million dollars in sales in 2022.
