After going for gold in Rome, Vanessa Kirby was back to her favoured black (and favourite silhouette) for the ‘Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One’ London premiere held at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on Thursday (June 22).
The British actress was smouldering wearing a Dolce & Gabbana black silk cady gown featuring an exposed satin bra which sees an early 2000s trend (think Carrie Bradshaw, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton and Amy Winehouse) make a comeback.
This trend was reignited by Lily James and Kerry Washington back in February, and then exploded during Cannes Film Festival last month.
Considering there is a whole market dedicated to hiding bras (strapless bras, backless bras, stick on bras, and invisible bras) it seems to be (un)officially cool and sexy to expose your bra again.
I actually like the trend when it is executed well, and if there was one label that was always going to give us a successful, sultry outing, it was Dolce & Gabbana.
I adore the simplicity of the construction and the boning which gives Vanessa an hourglass figure, so this is my favourite version so far.
I’m sure there’s plenty more to come.
Cartier jewels completed her look.
I’m sure some of you are looking at this and saying, “why couldn’t Prada have done this for Scarlett Johansson?”
