It was a case of another awards ceremony, another accolade for Jodie Comer who attended the 2023 Drama Desk Awards on Tuesday (June 6) in New York City, where she received the Outstanding Solo Performance award for ‘Prima Facie.’
I hope Jodie can keep her hot streak going for the Tony Awards, which takes place this coming weekend.
The competition is stiff, as she is in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play category with Jessica Chastain for ‘A Doll’s House,’ Jessica Hecht for ‘Summer, 1976,’ and Audra McDonald for ‘Ohio State Murders.’
As I said in her previous post, vests are trending, and the British actress made it part of her three-piece suit from Alessandra Rich.
The Resort 2023 oversized blazer features the designers signature buttons embellished with crystals, which amplified the light-reflecting silver lurex pinstripes.
I’m guessing that no one is wishing that she had worn the lace trousers we see in the lookbook.
What is really interesting during the lead up to the main event – the 2023 Tony Awards – is that the red carpet looks aren’t the gala gowns we are used to during awards season.
In this case it helps build the excitement for Sunday.
