Maya Hawke joined her cast mates for the ‘Asteroid City’ premiere held at the Alice Tully Hall on Tuesday (June 13) in New York City.
No doubt you haven’t forgotten the actress’ Prada premiere look during Cannes Film Festival, where she gave us several eras in one look.
Our conclusion from that outing was that she was “trolling us,” “it was supposed to be tongue- in- cheek,” and/or “her stylist hit a randomize button and just went with it.”
However, Schmetterling22 was on the right path when they said, “it’s a Wes Anderson film and the look is in this vein. It’s def not to be taken seriously,” as Maya’s stylist Harry Lambert said on Instagram when referring to this look that it was, “inspired by the era of the movie, Wes Anderson and the AW11 PRADA show.”
As beautiful as Maya’s Prada black sequin dress featuring a wide geometric pleated skirt is, it’s likely that your eyes will fall to the sequin-embellished retro-inspired swim cap, or the ‘60s inspired well-defined eyes.
I think the makeup will stay consistent throughout this promo tour, but as for the swim cap, this isn’t the first time we’ve seen one on the red carpet.
Although it made more sense when we saw it on Amber Heard, as she was promoting ‘Aquaman’ at the time.
